Corrugated
(Fluted Rib) Flange Technology A simple concept that adds strength with
less weight.
Have you ever taken a piece of paper, stood
it up on a table, and then tried to put a book on the paper
to see if it would hold the book up? The piece of paper can
not hold the weight of the book and is smashed by the weight
of the book. Now take a piece of paper and fold it like a
fan. Stand the fan-folded paper on a table and place a book
on it. The fan-folded or corrugated paper can hold the weight
of the book. This example shows the idea of our corrugated
or fluted rib spools and reels. EconoReel's patented corrugated
or fluted rib flanges are lighter than conventional flanges
and yet they are just as stiff and much stronger. Less weight and
better strength add up to savings for you.
High
Density Expansion Molding Technology A new process that will revolutionize large
reel manufacturing.
In the late 1990's Robert Ripplinger developed
a completely new molding process which he named "Expansion
Molding." It didn't require gigantic expensive molding
machines to make large plastic parts. These early reels were
nice looking parts but lacked the needed strength. After years
of further development, the process has been modified and
refined to make strong, good-looking large parts. It is now
called High Density Expansion Molding. Our reels are as strong
as steel reels and as cheap as nailed wood reels, with many
additional benefits these old fashioned materials can't match.

Patents EconoReel™ has exclusive license to four of Robert Ripplinger's patents
and first option on other patents pending.
Patent # 6003807 and patent # 6179245 cover
plastic corrugated (fluted rib) flange technology. Only EconoReel™ can offer you spools and reels with plastic corrugated (fluted
rib) flanges.
Earlier
Patents Robert's inventions also resulted in
three earlier spool and reel patents. Patent # 5464171 directed
to two-piece spools (as opposed to three-piece spools). Patents
# 5660354 and # 6102327 directed to several improvements including
the industry's first practical plywood replacement reel. While
this was a great reel, it is now made obsolete by an even
better corrugated (fluted rib) reel.
Our technology is highly valuable. Let us
apply these technologies to fill your needs.
